To the people who say they don't believe this, please try to think of the
world and not your limited experience of just the United States (or Europe).
There are BILLIONS of people on this planet who make less than a $1,000 a
year. MILLIONS who make less than $200 a year.
If you have
any disposable income, if you are not literally starving and living day to day, struggling to feed yourself and your family, then you ARE rich (by global standards).
It may make you feel guilty, but don't shoot the messenger.
Quote:
You are in the top 0.121% richest people in the world.
There are 5,992,712,435 people poorer than you.
How do you feel about that? A bit richer we hope. Please consider donating just a small amount to help some of the poorest people in the world. Many of their lives could be improved dramatically or even saved if you donate just one hour's salary (approx €104.16)
Oh, and in case you’re interested you are the 7,287,565 richest person in the world.

I do give to charity on a regular basis. I have standing orders to donate to Medicen San Frontier, GreenPeace, WorldVision and the Wilderness Society. Each Christmas my wife and I buy a couple of hundred dollars worth of presents for kids and leave them at the local mall. I volunteer to work with the Smith Family (secular charity in Australia).
And I think I do far far too
little.
It's humbling to think about others some times. Most of us here (99%) have no idea how good we have it.
