VALVe has taken it upon themselves to port Half-Life, Counter Strike, and Day of Defeat to the Source engine. They have also updated all the textures, models, audio and some gameplay elements to bring you Counter Strike and Day of Defeat in the modern gaming world. They did not spend so much time porting Half-Life, so the graphics won't be as great. But it will be running on the Source engine.

What you get when you buy a certain package over Steam
EDIT - To clarify, Day of Defeat and Counter Strike (and their newer, Source counterparts) are completely different games. Some love one and hate the other. You might want to find a way to play them both before you commit to buying the Source ports.
However, CS:S comes with HL2 no matter what.
