I remember hearing that same thing about the fourth book, that one of the main characters would die, and i heard rumours it was Ron. It ended up to be Cedric, who i didn't think was too big because we only saw him in the 4th book and didnt really get to know him. Then there was supposed to be a very big death in the 5th one, and although Serious Black was a pretty big character, and ill miss him, it wasn't anyone bug from the school like Ron, Hermione, Dumbledore, etc....

So, I don't really have any clue but it seems to me it might actually be someone pretty big this time, such as Ron, but you never know...
