I got to talk to them whenever they were worried about a missile site and during some testing.
Added note: We had a 3 Star show up to see what we did for a living. Rules said no screwing off on the radio and we had a smart ass in traffic control center (TCC) with a huge ego. It all started with Elmer Fudd singing "I'm widing in my caaar" (next radio) "I turn on da wadio"... The TCC had a friggin cow! He told everyone all the trouble we were in etc.... So this 3 star gets ahold of the mic and says... "Houston Control, Houston Control, we have a problem." The TCC again rambled threats. The General just told him to look at the crew list (where his name and rank were). Never heard another word. Job Control rubbed it in when we logged onto base by welcoming him BY NAME and RANK back.
