I remember that. It was something that Nullsoft or a winamp plugin was doing. Winamp would update a server with your current song and then you'd use a URL in your sig to show people what you were listening to. The problem with it was nullsoft or whoever did the plugin didn't have the bandwidth to handle it and site admins especially EZBoard ops were bitching because it was slowing down their page loads waiting on the URL to supply the content.
I thought it was goofy because it often derailed threads when people would comment on musical tastes.
