Spam from someone I know.
I got some weird spam today from a guy I used to work with.
It was typical spam in that the body of the email was just "Here it is!" With no signature or salutation, I think the subject line was just "hi." It came from a hotmail account of a guy I used to work with, I know it was from his email cause I still have this guy in my MSN Messenger list. What is weird is that it didnt come to my hotmail account, rather it came to my ISP mail account with I manage with Outlook 2003. So far as I know this guy never would have known my ISP email address.
Now I don't think that Nick (the guy) really sent me the spam, if he had been trying to trick me direcly I think he would have addressed me personally. But isn't it a weird coincidence that a spammer spoofed the hotmail address of someone I know?
Incidentally, the attachment to the spam was a zip file with a fake doc file (which I deleted). The file name was:
webpage.txt .exe (tons of spaces before the exe extention)
