What sucks about how this was pulled is that it was done without notice, so pardon me if I do not sound terribly pleased - I understand heavy server load but it can be worked around, and if you're going to pull a section at least let the users know.

IF Halx had the physical resources to do that, he probably would. Clearly he does not, hence the need for donations. Explore the board a bit and you'll find - in a very logical and obvious place for most contributors - even more information about the need for money and the kind of hardware it's needed for.
As far as being pulled without notice, if you read the TFP Charter and the rules of TFP, you will find that not only is the porn not a core part of the purpose for the site, it isn't even one of the purposes at all. It is an extra little thing that's nice for people to have, but no one should be here strictly for the porn.
To those who have not contributed anything in time spent outside the EZ or, at least, money. The porn isn't what TFP is about - whether or not that's true for you. If you refuse to contribute time elsewhere on the forum or money, that's fine - go somewhere else for free porn. If you like the things that TFP values - open and respectful communication and all that other stuff mentioned in the charter you were supposed to read when you signed up, then go explore the rest of the forum. Chances are, you'll probably enjoy it.
To those who ARE contributors, thanks for your support. Remember though, everyone has to start somewhere. A lot of you didn't start participating until a time when the EZ was turned off for awhile. So, keep in mind that the person you're talking to may be a lurker today, but they may be a top member a few months from now.
Everyone on both sides should always make their best attempt to be respectful in their discussion.
