Antony's Oath
Antony's Oath
I escape to the floating comfort of dreams,
here we love like legends,
and you are my Cleopatra,
skin to make mortals weep,
eyes an eternity of wanting,
lips of luscious honeydew,
drawing me closer,
I am engulfed in your taste,
wondrous and fulfilling,
flesh inviting me to soft wonders,
you speak without saying,
I love you,
lilac petal ears turn to hear,
and I whisper,
Dear,
when oaks grow old and fall,
and all iron turns to rust,
when mountains fail to echo,
and oceans dry to bone,
when music ceases song,
and hearts no longer mourn,
a single truth will remain,
I love you.
