see...here's my problem with the premise of your arguement. why is it that you need a force in opposition or tension with God to produce independant thought?

unthinking subservience is not a Christian value...we have been given the image of God, and share the responsbility to be co-creators with God. Satan, imo, is anti-creation. To tear down, to accuse, to divide, to unmake, to isolate...that is the action of evil. And so while good and evil have no concord...it is not as if there are some folks who are all good and all evil. We have free will...and the garden of eden is a wonderful way of expressing the beginnings of our understandings of that gift. what we do with that is up to us...and it doesn't take being evil to be creative and free-thinking. quite the opposite.
