When I was young and stupid I trusted the pull-out method for about 12 mths. My girlfriend never got pregnant. I originally thought maybe this indicated we were not as fertile as other couples, but 10 yrs later when I ended up being married to the same girl, we decided to start a family.
She went off the pill (yes, I got smarter) and fell pregnant almost immediately. This indicates how easily we could become pregnant, yet the pull-out method worked for us for 12 mths.
So although I certainly do NOT recommend that method, there is a good chance this guy's girl is not pregnant yet.
Don't stress the poor bloke too much until he knows either way
