It's hard to "suspect" whether someone might be infected: if she's ready to sleep with you without knowing (or caring) if you've got an STD yourself, and without using a condom, what does that tell you? She's a disease-ridden skank, or she's just too horny and can't care at that particular moment? I'd say the latter in most cases.
So, simple advice really: to avoid "freaking out" don't stick your dick in chicks you're not sure are "clean" without using a condom. Choose a moment when you're not having sex to explain to her that you need the certainty that your partner is not infected, and suggest to go get tested together.
