The defense is definitely for real. Andrew Walter had a terrible game on Saturday, and ASU still found a way to win. That's important because last year we didn't have a chance if Walter had an off night. Turnovers have been going our way; that is always a definite formula for winning.
Oregon is a very, very tough place to play. ASU can't start off like they did against OSU or the crowd will jump all over the offense. I don't think Walter can be considered for Heisman unless he puts up solid numbers against USC AND wins.
Bad news: Loren Wade is suspended indefinitely and Randy Hill is gone for the year with a torn ACL, leaving the running game up to Hakim Hill. I am kind of excited because he has been my favorite of the three for the last two years. He is strong, and catches well. If Coach Koetter can find a way to get the ball into his hands 20+ times for Oregon and USC, it will take a big load off the passing game. If we beat Oregon, our matchup with USC will definitely be the game the week.
