Not to be offensive, but I am tired of that "everybody sucked while they played with the Bengals from 1990-2004" bullshit. Excuse me, but didn't Corey (even though he is a big, whining piece of dog shit, suffice to say I was in the crowd booing him while NE played the Bengals in preseason) rush for at least a thousand yards his first 5 seasons, all of which he played for the Bengals? Isn't he still 2nd on most yards gained rushing in a game, and didn't he hold #1 on that list for a while? Does he not have the most yards gained rushing in a game by a rookie (which, by the way, took place on the Bengals' last night game until last week)? Did Boomer Esiason not take over for Jeff Blake during the mid- 1996 season and lead the team to win 5 of their last 7 games? I think people don't know the team well enough. There were 3 main problems with the Bengals in those years. #1 was a man named Bruce Coslet, head coach until Dick LeBeau took over in 2002. He was responsible for offensive playcalling, almost exlusively relying on rushing attempts and 0-2 yard passes that were almost always dropped. He never changed in all of his years there, and luckily, now, we have the great Marvin Lewis. 2nd is the secondary. They didn't cover passes at all. They're getting better. 3rd was special teams, which is still a problem. Hardly ever was the roster a problem.
