it may have nothing to do with you...they may be trying to impress someone completely other than you or your girlfriend or your sister. To wit, a lot of girls are attracted to dominant male types. A lot of dominant male types are gregarious. So a lot of guys are outgoing to impress girls they are with, and might not give two flying craps about you or your girlfriend. It might at least explain some of the occurrences.
