as an alternative to the typewriter, if you've photoshop, you can open this file (one page at a time...) and just create a new layer and use the type tool.
but realistically, a typewriter (or printing by hand) would be a lot quicker!

IIRC, there are "fill-in" pdf forms available that allow text input. the IRS has some on their website. the only problem is that if you only have Adobe Reader and not the full version Acrobat, you won't be able to save any of the text you type in...
