Of course CBS wanted the publicity, but they did NOT want this kind of plublicity. They wanted to nail Bush, and instead nailed themselves.

Not to be dumb, but i'm sure cbs really covered the swift boat vet as much as anyone else did, which was bad for Kerry. Though, this doesn't exactly hurt Bush thats for sure.
