Why do people contiunally discount Nomar? The Cubs got him for NOTHING. When are people going to realize that. If you want to debate the fact Nomar wasen't worth Alex Gonzo, then your an idiot. The Cubs make the world series last year if he doesn't bobble that ball turning that double play. Get the fuck outta Chicago.

Getting Cabrera would have most likely cost them Clement as well. Every team benefitted, and got what they wanted. Red Sox added defense, Cubs added defense, and a guy that can put the ball in play and hit 300+. Although, no one benefits from getting Gonzo, except the team getting rid of him.

Yes, I'm a Cubs fan too. We'll take Nomar all day for the nothing we gave up for him. The Cubs are 3 games behind Houston in played games, 2 behind San Fran. And ahead of both of them. The pitching is coming around ever so slightly, and Sammy seems to be hitting a little better. But, the inability to steal bases, get the ball in play, and play small ball just isn't there. They won't make the postseason like that. The pitching is weak this year, and they can't get runs without hitting the ball 360+ feet. It aint gonna work that way.

It's funny, I got crucified on baseball-fever.com for saying trade Sosa earlier this year. Now every bangwagon Cubs fan wants him gone. I've been saying it for 3 years I wanted him out. I guess it's too late, the Cubs are stuck with his 18 million next year. Gee, whoopie fucking doo.
