New twist in the DC Expos saga. The democratic primary on Tuesday shook up the DC council with Marion Barry and two other challengers unseating encumbents who were staunch supporters of a publicly financed stadium. MLB had a 12 hour marathon meeting with district officials yesterday, perhaps realizing that they had better get the deal done before the new council members take their seats. An official says the deal is very near, perhaps only five days away.
