We always called it milk gravy in my mother's house. Better yet, use Buttermilk - much richer and no fat. Try cooking sausage (instead of bacon). The kind with lot's of sage is my preferance.
Cracker Barrel makes awesome biscuits and decent gravy. I've also been surprised with Bob's Big Boy's breakfast buffet.
