Well I have to say that clitoral overstimulation can be quite painful, still with pleasure mixed in too but painful. For me (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) there are certain parts of the clitoris that can't take the stimulation. It's not that unusual for me to ask someone to stop if they are getting too hard and heavy on a sensitive area, it's always been that way with me. From what you wrote I can't tell if she had an orgasm either but it may be that you need to back off just a bit and try again a little more gently.
