The $4000 included two one-month Eurail passes and airfair from Vancouver to London. I think the airfair was just over 600. I flew standby both ways on British airways. I had budgeted around $500 a month in expences.
I was in Sweden in May and I can tell you that it was a wonderful time of year to be there.
I agree with CMC3 in that you shouldn't stick with a ridgid plan. It's nice to stay a little longer in a place if you want to.
Trust me, if you want to travel cheap and I mean really cheap, it can be done.
