I have a somewhat similar problem in classes. I'm 6'3" and prefer to be in front, but I hate blocking everyone around me (I go to a mostly hispanic school, everyone is short), so I tend to gravitate to the edges of the front rows. This generally keeps me from blocking others, and gives me a relatively good seat.
