No one knows their early 80's new wave? For shame...
As much as a lot of people would like to forget it happened, it still is a key part of the music scene. Bands like Depeche Mode came out of that era.
Even though the 24-hour mark isn't up, I won't be around to check up.
So, here's a little history lesson. Dave Wakeling and Ranking Roger left The English Beat to form General Public, which fared OK, but not as well as hoped. The rest of the band found out about the split from news accounts and decided to form their own group, Fine Young Canibals. (hence the drive you crazy hint mentioned above). FYC went on to much bigger success in the US than General Public.
I throw out the next question to the general populus.
Admit it, you're surprised a KISS fanatic knows his 80's new wave. Blame my sister, that's all she listened to.
