I can, sort of, appreciate that Sir Bobby's position had become difficult. After Woodgate was sold he came out and said it wasn't his decision, he wasn't really interested in signing Rooney and I'm starting to wonder whether Patrick Kluivert was his signing.
I honestly thought we should have 'moved Bobby upstairs' at the end of last season, his connections in world football are a valuable asset but his football ideas are as old as he is.
