From what I have read, I cant say I there is proof positive that aspartame has definitive health risks. Then again, the hints are present.
The fact that it will degrade teeth is true but thats any cola. I would be willing to bet that aspartame is much better for you than all that sugar. With all the obesity and diabetes out there, the minute chance of developing cancer is not necessarily worse.
As far as the caffeine goes, there has been a study that it actually lowers heart disease. It was with coffee and good sized amounts...im not sure but i think 3 cups per day or more. Why? I dont know, weight loss/something in coffee/or caffeine itself.
By the way, I do have my doctorate in medicine but Im a lowly resident and certainly not an oncologist or cardiologist.
