We have a spider problem. Ours we know are poisonous, Brown Recluse Spiders. I have been bit twice, my husband once, our daughter once.
I would catch one and save it in a jar for identification purposes. If it's not a poisonous one, I wouldn't be too razzed about it. Helpful spiders are a good thing.
Sticky traps work well, especially if they are crawling across the floors like you mentioned. If you find out that your spider is not harmful, then many of your fears should be put to rest. I know I have a hard time falling asleep every night too, and it was just Wednesday night that I found a brown recluse in my bed! I'm in the Midwest, and they are really bad here.
Anyway, best of luck to you. I feel for ya!
