build an HTPC, or buy a console and HTIB
My mobo died the other day in my gaming rig. I have been interested in bulding an HTPC for the purpose of creating a digital jukebox, time shifiting tv, etc. I have a regular old tv and basic cable and no plans to upgrade either. The HTPC would be built on the cheap, but I do want it to be beefy enough to play games also. Do you think this is too much to squeeze in one box? Will the gaming on the TV be worse than using a console?
Are any of the alternative ways of streaming music from a PC to a stereo worthwhile?
