I think you might be a little overly-sensitive about it - it could be that this happens all the time, but you only particularly notice it and are bothered by it when it comes from a guy and you perceive that you're being dissed. Sorta like noticing when the streetlight goes off when you drive by.
I'd say don't take it personally.
