Spiders do get rid of other critters so don't be so quick to get rid of them - unless they are the poisonous variety
Boric Acid, which is a non poisonous powder you can put all around the baseboards and under appliances is great for getting rid of roaches and other bugs, if those bugs are gone, then the spiders should go with them
Keep the place as clean as possible - spiders eat dustmites -which are attracted by bugs
