Sarah McClachlan/ Butterfly Boucher
Went and saw them in concert last night. Had gotten tickets for the wife on her B-day and we went with friends. (The wife and I actually had a good time and because of the concert we are talking again and things may work out.)
Ok not going into much detail here's my assessment of the concert.
Butterfly Boucher is a very beautiful young Austrailian singer. Her voice and energy were tremendous and she rocked. If anyone knows Shakespear's Sister, Paula Cole, or Meredith Brookes' work and likes it, then you'd like Butterfly Boucher. I have not seen many bassists with enery and sing, but Ms. Boucher did both extremely well. And to me she passed the most important asspect of a concert, she was personable, respected the audience and was happy to be in Cleveland performing. I hope she catches on because I truly believe she deserves superstar status. 10/10 for an opening act.
Sarah McClachlan was Sara McClachlan you either like her style of music or you don't. Her stage was made to look like an old English style garden with ivy growing all around. She was strong, her voice was perfect and after 5 years(?) being gone she made sure everyone knew she was happy the almost full house hadn't forgotten her. She gave an hour and a half show folled by a very long but highly energized encore of 20 minutes. At times you could see in her face a little bit of nervousness but she performed well rehearsed and again she passed my biggest criteria, happy to be there, personable and respectful of the audience. 9/10 show.
PS> the Lesbian count was extremely high as was the gray haired yuppie count, so if that would bother you, this is not a show for you to attend.

I just love people who use the excuse "I use/do this because I LOVE the feeling/joy/happiness it brings me" and expect you to be ok with that as you watch them destroy their life blindly following. My response is, "I like to put forks in an eletrical socket, just LOVE that feeling, can't ever get enough of it, so will you let me put this copper fork in that electric socket?"
