sure... i use a efax service that people send to a regular fax number but then the system emails me a PDF of their fax.
I can fax out by emailing to a "fax" email address and the recepient can get the email plus any attachments.
cost of service? very high. would i use it if the office didn't pay for it? nope.
in lieu of the service i usually just scan the document and attach that to an email.
