I would recommend looking at the <a href="http://www.bluerobot.com/web/layouts/">BlueRobot.com</a>
layouts for pages. They are completely free to steal, modify, and use. I am not sure if this will exactly fit your needs, but they are easy to modify (you do need to learn a little about CSS (cascading style sheets), but it is fairly straight forward and you probably could figure it out by modifying the code a little and reloading the page.
