I agree with everything you said. I disagree with what others are incessantly yammering on about regarding advertising and the popular media: that people are just mindless consumerbots who are powerless to make enlightened and informed choices regarding their own lives. Of course advertising is a wasteland of bald-faced lies and manipulation, that's a given. What I'm saying is that average, reasonable, intelligent people are capable of making the right choices for themselves and their lifestyles that I believe ought not to be mocked and belittled by those who supposedly claim to know better.
