Yep giantpizza man, you have to have 250 good valid posts to achieve avatar status. As far as I know that doesn't mean ones like "yeah man", or "Hot", they must at least be making a sensible comment.
For some reason, I have the same thing that you do, and should have the ability to change my avatar...but something is crossed up somewhere. I'm sure it will be fixed eventually.
