If you're not interested in keeping the magazines afterwards, I have two suggestions:
1. If the magazine has staples, remove them and gently pull the pages out.
2. If the magazine does not have staples, cut them out individually with a razor blade or Xacto knife, or all at once (sort of) by cutting through the binding at the very edge of the magazine.
