Canadian/American cell phone?
Alright, so here's the deal. I live in Montreal part of the year going to school. The rest of the year I live in Maine, with my family. I'd like to get a cell phone plan that I can use in both places without incurring a long distance charge, and I'd also like it to be a 12 month plan so I don't have to pay the ridiculously high monthly charges.
So... any suggestions? The two things I could think of are 1) Free long distance including Canada, or 2) Changing my telephone number when I move. Unfortunately, I can't find anywhere that does this.
I tried getting in touch with AT&T, because (unless something has changed in the past few months), they own Rogers, a big cell phone provider in Quebec. So far, though, they haven't been any help. Nobody has been able to answer my question when I called, and my emails haven't been returned.
Has anyone else found anything along the lines of what I'm looking for? (Or does anyone who works for a phone company have a better idea for me?) I'm not dedicated to AT&T/Rogers, but I can't find anyone else with a Canadian connection.
