Some director's give fantastic commentaries but for the most part they're horrendous... I don't want to listen to Bret Ratner masturbate over himself while watching Red Dragon.
Fight Club's commentary is one of my favourites, as is Panic Room (3 Disc Set). Finch knows his shit. Also, Robert Rodriguez gives good ones as does Ridley Scott.
