I'm from upstate NY, but was in Charleston, SC for the weekend. I woke up Saturday morning to a lot of thunder and some rain, but nothing major. Turns out Charley missed up by about 5-10 miles to the North. Guess I'm one of those lucky Yankees. Later that weekend I saw a t-shirt shop selling "I survived Hurricane Charley" shirts and started laughing.
