DEFINITELY do that. Your body is better built to type with the back of the keyboard
lower than the front. This whole thing about propping up the back of the keyboard on little legs is the least ergonomical thing ever.
I knew a woman who got very serious RSI--enough that she was eventually taken off keyboard work permanently. One of the attempted therapies they tried for her was a bolt-on keyboard tray that basically had her typing between her knees, with her wrists pointed at her toes. The keyboard was angled down (with the keys pointed toward the bottom edge of the monitor) at about a 45-degree angle.
