I think that you give free will too much credit. To be that obese, she must have had some serious physical problems leading to the obesity including but not limited to a genetic loading for obesity.

And this woman is a very, very rare case. It seems likely that she had some problems other than a desire to sit on her couch and eat till she couldn't get up anymore.

I disagree. It is more than possible that she had some type of disorder (hormonal or otherwise) that could have led to her gross obesity.
