Please, the reasoning goes in a circle - when someone counters your point, you bring up something that had nothign to do with it, and is irrelevant.
(this would apply to everyone)

And anyways, militarily, it would be stupid. Politically, it would be stupid. Ethically, it would be stupid.

Conclusion? It would be stupid.

And we're not fighting World War II here, unless you suddenly believe the situation has changed to that?

And I think most generals and military officials learned from World War II that carpet bombing cities does little if their means of production are still around and they have a reason (or fear) to fight.
