I've been reading a lot since this morning and people are claiming that they can easily get the Ultra's speeds (425/1100) on stock cooling, so hey, why not?
Plus the card is built in such a way that if the core gets too hot, the voltage drops to prevent damage to the card itself, so apparently it's difficult to actually destroy the thing.
Has anyone tried this yet?

I tried it. It works PERFECTLY. Mine's running past Ultra speeds now (420/1150) stably. The thermal-throttling feature works great too...I took it too high and it clocks the voltage down. My score went down when I took it too high. Either way, it goes to 420/1150 at least with no throttling.
