Hi, I'm in the Path of a Hurricane
Last night the shaves were completely barren – no water.
Down a few hundred feet, the battery section of the local Walmart look like it was ravaged by rioting electronic devices. There’s talk that there’s no more D batteries in Jacksonville, Florida.
And we’re only on the back end of the hurricane’s trajectory.
I’d like to hear accounts from member in the path of the hurricane, telling what their area is like before, during, and after the storm.
I wait tables at a high end steakhouse (Morton’s Steakhouse) and worked last night. It was very slow. I had 3 tables all night; we had probably had around 20 guests all night.
I ventured to the store latter that night and it was busier than usual. The cashier remarked “Just last night, I wished that it was busy like it was when back-to-school was going on. I was bored. I guess be careful what you wish for.”
There is talk among people saying that authorities will shut down the bridges that connect the city over the St. Johns River because of high winds possibly hurling cars over the sides. The local transportation authority has denied this, but has announced having troopers on hand to have such a lock down if needed.
If you are in Florida, let us know what’s going on in your neck of the woods.
It was a gorgeous day yesterday BTW.
