I think it sounds like one of those automated things that aren't written just for you. Sounds a lot like some spam e-mails i've gotten. Maybe it searches the internet for websites with and e-mail and $$ amount listed, and assumes they are selling and just sends the e-mail? Sort of like the kind of thing that searches internet for e-mail addresses and sends spam to them.
