No. We do not. Annexation is a myth. Last time Texas seceded, we got welcomed back to the fold four and a half years later, with fights still occurring several weeks after the surrender at Appomatox. Once you're in the United States, there's no getting out. Last place that came even close to "secession" would be the Phillipines, as they left willingly from commonwealth status.
As for that email, there are a lot of true parts, and a lot of problematic parts.
However, those of you who support Kerry I have to disagree with. He's no better than Bush. Hell, he's no "oil tycoon," but his wife only has 700 MILLION DOLLARS. Sounds like a humble "man of the people" to me--just like George W Bush does.
The real problem I have with Kerry is his abuse of his veteran's status and his "decorated war hero" image--especially concerning his purple hearts. My cousin went through Vietnam as a scout sniper with the Marine Corps. He earned his purple heart by taking a rifle round through his left shoulder/pectoral region. I personally know several other recipients of the Purple Heart. They all say the same thing--they weren't heros. They did what they had to do, nothing more, nothing less. One of em, Pat, earned two purple hearts, a bronze star and a silver star in the four years he was in the Marines--all during the 7 months he spent in Vietnam. Funny how even Pat, a highly-decorated Marine who got a battlefield comission to Lieutenant in the conflict, is
humble about his decorations. All of em are. Kerry isn't
