IMO, just like everything else Callaway makes, it's overpriced, over engineered, and you can find stuff just as good, if not better for less money.
I'm an 8 handicap, obviously a far cry from you. But I played 2 rounds with the X-16's about 3 months ago (belong to my father in law) when I was in Texas, and wasen't impressed. Although, for argument sake, I hated the Bertha irons, I hated the way the Bertha woods feel - so naturally, I wasen't really objective.
I have the Titleist 704.cb and they are roughly about 100 bucks an iron. You can find them on Ebay much, much less, I got mine with Dynamic Gold steel shafts for 780 bucks - shipped, for 2-9 SW, PW, and LW. I love them. Not the best shafts, but work well, and coulden't touch the price.
Callaway's are ok, and I've never been a fan, just never felt good, never was able to pick the ball up real well. SOme people like em, some people don't. Find a demo set, and try em yourself, only way to tell. Just one mans opinion.
EDIT: Sorry, forgot to ask, how much you going to pay for them?
