This assumes that the goal of life is to do things in a certain manner towards the end of death. Death just happens, and all we can do is live with Good Faith towards our ethics, morality, and sense of what is best for us. This quote suggests that living with reckless abandon is good, but there is no reason to believe that. It suggests a life without reflection, which creates a life without self-meaning. At the least, some deliberation and care for the self will create some self-meaning which can help someone rest easy that they've lived well before they die.
