If Congress wants to ban flag burning it will need a Constitutional amendment. The reason it needs to change the Constitution to ban this act is because this issue has been to the Supreme Court, and the court ruled that
flag burning is protected by both the word and the spirit of the Constitution.
Why would I want to go against something our founding fathers would have supported. You know, "I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."
Much like some people may not like "prime time skin," but banning it is clearly a slap in the face of freedom of the press.
