I know what you mean. Having your neigbours' fuck-antics when you are trying to sleep in your ears or getting screamed at because you walked too loudly sucks.
The atmosphere in a dorm is something completely different. A dorm has rooms. It feels like you are all living under the same roof but only in different rooms. Apartments feel, well, apart.
