Working out only makes things worse. Your body needs your energy to fight whatever's going on inside your body (which also means you should make sure you're sleeping well). The most I can tell you is take it easy for a few days, try to drink lots of fluids and eat your vitamins.
And...I hate to say it but, while cough drops might soothe the pain for a little bit, a lot of them are packed with sugar, which tends to make things worse. It might be better to drink tea.
